Raquel Ruiz-Castaneda has been a board member of Hispanic Center of Lehigh Valley (HCLV) since 2015 and is very proud of the achievements and impact of the organization and board to the community, especially the work to create the new Fowler Community Wellness Center, a pivotal building that will add to the renaissance of Bethlehem. Raquel moved to the Lehigh Valley in late 2012. She soon joined PPL and has worked out of their downtown Allentown office since January 2013 working in various management roles, most recently as the Manager of Operations Services in Supply Chain. Raquel’s professional background has been primarily in engineering, industrial construction, and project management for electric utilities, and the oil and gas industries. She earned her Bachelor and Master degrees in Industrial Engineering from the University of Miami and has an MBA from Hodges University. She has lived and worked in Georgia, Florida, New York, and the US Virgin Islands, before moving to Pennsylvania. She is a native of Havana, Cuba and emigrated to the United States when she was seven years old. Raquel is also a member of the PBS39 Community Advisory Board since 2017 and has enjoyed getting to know new winter sports in the Lehigh Valley along with her husband Noel, son John Russell, and granddaughter Bailey Rose Russell.
