Elizbeth Vázquez is a graduate of Northampton Community College, where she attained an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts. She then went on to attend Moravian College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish with a Teaching Certificate. She then graduated with a Master’s Degree from Lehigh University in Secondary School Counseling. Mrs. Vázquez retired from the Bethlehem Area School District where she served as a Guidance Counselor for 36 ½ years. She has participated on many community agency boards, such as the Lehigh Valley University STAR Academy, Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley, and the Minsi Trails Council Scoutreach Program. She was the recipient of the Anthony Ruggiero BEST Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Outstanding Educator Award from the Council of Spanish Speaking Organizations, the Allentown Hispanic Leadership Award, and the Puerto Rican Latino Leadership Award.
Mrs. Vázquez has been happily married for 42 years to Hector. They have two children: Kristin and Hector Jr. She is also a doting grandmother to Hector Manuel and Mariah Rose, with whom she enjoys spending her time.
