Download HereThe Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley (HCLV) is a 501(c)3 organization that empowers low-income individuals living in South Bethlehem and throughout Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Its mission is to improve the quality of lives of families (Hispanic and non-Hispanic) by empowering them to become more self-sufficient, while promoting an intercultural understanding in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania. At HCLV, we believe in a community that embraces economic opportunity for all and sees its cultural diversity as a foundation for building a stronger society and a more vibrant economy. We also believe at the heart of change is the individual’s desire and willingness to pursue a path toward their own independence and self-sufficiency. Formerly known as the Council of Spanish Speaking Organizations of the Lehigh Valley, Inc., Hispanic Center of the Lehigh Valley was founded in 1968 by community members representing the Puerto Rican Beneficial Society, Holy Infancy Catholic Church and the former City of Bethlehem Human Relations Unit. For 57 years, the Hispanic Center of the Lehigh Valley has worked diligently to help low-income community members overcome the obstacles that accompany poverty. Staff connect residents with resources in times of crisis. They assist community members with attaining employment, learning English, and accessing other community resources, such as those who can help with locating affordable housing
